One From The Archives: 11/26/05 Vintage Kiss (Tribute Band)/ Devitalize/ Overmatter @ Station 4, St. Paul, MN

I'd enjoyed the Vintage Kiss show in Anoka the previous evening and still had nothing else of significance planned for the evening. So, keeping my word to the Vintage Kiss tribute band roadie I'd spoken to the previous evening, I bundled up for what promised to be a cold drive over to St. Paul to catch the band again.
The full-color flyer at the top of the post lists "Devitalize" as the opener, but the print ad from the City Pages (bottom) lists "Overmatter." I do remember there was an opener, but don't remember which of these two bands it was. Station 4, in contrast to the packed show at Serum's the previous evening, was kinda deserted, no doubt due to the fact that it was Thanksgiving weekend and brutally cold, maybe one hundred people in attendance. Despite the sparse attendance the band played a set of Kiss tunes that was maybe a bit better than the show they did the night before in Anoka. I had a few beers and had a good time watching the band emulating our shared musical heroes. $5.00 seemed a small price to pay to have something...anything...to do on a cold winter evening with no one around to do it with.
